Dare to Dream Big (AKA Why I left Corporate)

Dare to Dream Big (AKA Why I left Corporate)

They called me a “lifer”.

I was with my first and only company since college for 17 years. I was happy, increasing in responsibility and leadership, and I was respected and well-paid. Nobody predicted I would leave.

I left, within 2 years of my husband passing away, to build a different lifestyle for myself and my family. That was ten years ago this month.

I dreamt of being able to walk my kids to school, to be in the classroom with them doing “stations”. Reading stories. Going on field trips. Being on the PTC, helping with activities and events. I had never told myself I wanted to be a “Stay At Home Mom” but I wanted to be a part of all the enriching things, now that their dad, who was planned to be the “Stay At Home Dad”, was gone.

When we are pushed to decide, it’s easier and faster. I didn’t have time to be afraid, I knew what I wanted and went after it full force. So what happens when we don’t have External Motivation?

We need to have big dreams to PULL us toward what we want in life.

Today I encourage you to imagine your big dream. What do you want? Do you need help figuring that out? How about making a plan to get there? Most of us struggle to do this alone. I would love to help you.
